Great Balls Of Fire  Is the Word I could describe my head that night, It was spinning. When I got there I was a bit afraid of the night. And was shocked when the first person to greet Me was Les Maguire Formerly of Gerry and the Pacemakers, Then Ian Edwards, Blimey the Stars of Merseybeat were out in force, For Me.  Teddy greeted Me, He was THE star of the night, because without Him and the Dominoes this show wouldn't have happened. Peter Stevenson phoned me to ask how I had got on about My broken Wheelchair and i told him that it was condemned.  So The guys put this show together to purchase a new one. And Kingsize Taylor phoned me and told me that Themselves, The Undertakers, Mike Byrne and Rockitt, with Wes Paul, and Billy Shine who had cancelled a paid gig  would be playing for No expenses at all, I was struck dumb.   What A night it turned out to be, a Sell out that I believe could have been in the end sold twice over.

I OWE YOU ALL A GREAT THANKS

The Night Started with Rockitt backing Mike Byrne, one of My favourite artists, And we were treated with a great opening act.  Billy Shine had the room rocking in a different way With Laughter My guests my cousin Babs & husband Brian , and my daughter Rosalyne, and Anna from Bristol, really enjoyed Billy.

Too old to Rock Too Young To Die The Undertakers took the stage and entertained us with some great numbers, my favourite being "Just A Little Bit" I was an Undertaker fan in the 60s So that brought back memories for me, waiting the queue to get into the Cavern just to see the band perform my favourite numbers, and one they should have recorded and released was "Shout" the best version I have ever heard.

Then I was called to the stage to do a guest spot and   play "Wipeout" With Chris Evans,   Barry Womersley,   Billy Good   helping me out, Blimey I nearly needed a crane to get Me on Mesh's drums, I am only short  (Mesh I hate Tall People) and it must have been funny at the back of the stage watching Me trying to reach the tom toms, I got through it without falling off (imagine it, a big crater in Crosby).

Then the raffle, wow so many prizes everybody must have gone home with something.. Dave Jamo, then gave a short speech on why we were there, and a bit about myself and my guest Jonathan Pollock, of the Great Britain Wheelchair basketball Team.

And Then Jamo did the worse thing anybody could Do, He Gave me the mike, A drummer I Have never ever before that night spoke on a mike in public, in my life I must have looked taller, what was happening in my trousers. I spieled about Jon and Myself, and SORRY forgot to mention Teddy and Everybody who had done this for me, My mind went blank (shouldn't give drummers a mike). Jonathan gave a lovely speech about me with I thanked him For.

Kingsize Taylor and the Dominoes took the stage, and with My old boss Lee Curtis also guesting, and they treated to us what lots of us in the 60s Merseybeat scene missed, and the Germans gained.  Teddy then invited people up for the end Finale, Mike Byrne, Ian Edwards, Jarnie Rocco .

They finished a night, I will remember for all My life,

THE DAY THE PEOPLE I USED TO ADMIRE FROM AFAR AND THE ONES I WATCHED AGOG DOWN THE CAVERN, ALL MY HEROES, THE ONES WHO INFLUENCED ME TO BECOME A GROUP MEMBER ON DRUMS AND I WANTED TO BE LIKE, WERE THERE FOR ME, I AM STILL LOST FOR WORDS..........ARTY DAVIES
