My First drumming influence
was
Barry (Basher)Robinson
went with a mate Jimmy Wright
to watch The Excerts practice in the back garden of the lead guitarist John Hodgson in Harland Green, Speke. Basher played the number that I am Known for now "Wipeout"people thought I pinched it from the Surfaris, No it was Basher Robinson.
And When I first got a set of drums, Basher came around to my house, and we set the drums up in the garage, and he gave me my first and only lesson. Basher went on later to play with The Kop and The Almost Blues.
Then I started to attend the Cavern lunch time and evening shows, I had to SAG school for the lunch time sessions. I then watched the drummers who would influence me further. Some on the telly in shows Like Thank Your Lucky Stars & Ready Steady Go names like
Johnny Hutchinson
The Big Three
John Banks The Merseybeats
Pete Clark The Escorts
Trevor Morais Faron's Flamingos
Roy Dyke The Remo Four.

I Would Like to Extend A Special Thank You to Jimmy O'Brien

drummer with The Undertakers he is a Great drummer and a Greater friend, times I have felt like leaving the drumming scene he has encouraged me to carry on there were times I didn't feel like getting on stage and playing and he has made me get up there, he has helped me get new kits I was desperate for new kit a while ago Jimmy found me a Pearl Export kit. I was talking to him some weeks ago and told him I have always wanted to have a Ludwig kit, within the week he had found one for me.I first saw Jimmy play when he was with The band New Image and I was taken by his drumming them days, but I never got know him until we met at Merseycats after he had joined The undertakers and we became friends. Now I owe so much to Jimmy and his good lady Pat and I will count them as a friends for the rest of my life.
